Anyone have any experience buying form this SF-based company? Good, bad, indifferent... thoughts?

Have never bought from them, but have only heard good things.
They and Dark Garden are a couple of the rather long-term vendors in the SF Bay Area; so of longevity means anything to you...

However, if you look at their website you will see that they outsource their work so it's essentially mail-order, with no opportunity for in-person fittings. If you're in the SF Bay Area, I would recommend Dark Garden ... the work is gorgeous and you can be fitted in person. -

Wed, July 16, 2008 - 12:25 PMAne Grogan , who owns Romantasy & owns a couple of hundred corsets of her own, is a very good corset fitter. She takes all measurements and does all the fittings in person, in her charming and corset-filled living room. She is great about making adjustments as long as they are requested in a timely manner (IE, rmemmbering to mention it to her when you get the finished product, not two months later). In fact, have ht e finished roduct shipped to her so that the final fitting is satisfactory to both of you. -

Fri, August 8, 2008 - 8:16 AMive bought corsets from both. i felt uncomfortable ordering from ann because she does outsource her work, but she has an excellent eye, and really knows how corsets should fit, (so even with my ample backside) she got my measurements right the first time and my corset turned out lovely. ann's personality is very calm and openminded. her house is lovely.
autumn (DG) is very creative and an excellent designer. i did have to go in for some extra fittings (again blame my "squish factor" and my ample backside), but the corset turned out beautifully. DG is fun. . .kinda goth, kinda hip/trendy.
they are both wonderful and i hope they continue to be very sucessful.

Thu, February 19, 2009 - 9:48 PMI have my one and only (sadly) corset from Romantasy. I would highly recommend them!! As others have said Ann owns hundreds of corsets, and therefore has a good eye for a quality corset. The designers she uses are quality driven... Prices are reasonable, and Ann is very good about taking all your measurements and really making sure you are satisfied. If I could afford another corset this would be the first place I would go to! Good luck...
