    <summary type="html">That is an orthopedic corset, not a fashion corset The straps are for tightening as the patient may have to tighten it themself.It is designed for back &amp;amp; spinal support, not to create a pleasing shape, so fine control was not an issue in its construction.</summary>

    <summary type="html">This is a design from the forties or fifties. With it the lacing is attached to three or so straps and the straps are pulled tight and secured in the corset front. It is a design that is supposed to make lacing easier but lacks the control of the traditional corset for tightlacing.&#xD;
